Current Player Shorts: Chidobe Awuzie

Chidobe Awuzie is a current cornerback for The Dallas Cowboys. Chidobe’s Cowboys story begins back at pick number sixty in the 2017 NFL Draft when former Cowboys wide receiver Drew Pearson enthusiastically announced his name. We told Drew’s side of the story back in episode 18, and decided we wanted to hear from the draft pick himself. Chidobe explains all of the excitement leading up to, and during his draft day process that landed him on America’s Team.

Surrounded by friends and family, Chidobe anxiously awaited his name to be called over the air throughout day 2 of the draft. After receiving the long-awaited call from Jerry Jones and the front office declaring his selection, Chidobe watched in amazement as Drew Pearson stirred up a horde of Philadelphia Eagles fans just moments before announcing the pick.
